Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Payungi social entrepreneurship movement in realizing halal tourism in Metro City. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative study with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. Data collection methods were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used qualitative data analysis processed through three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the Payungi social entrepreneurship movement in realizing halal tourism in Metro City is carried out by providing friendly facilities and services for Muslim visitors, such as halal culinary, prayer rooms, bathrooms and toilets, a takjil market during the month of Ramadan, and the absence of Islamophobia in tourist destinations that are collectively driven by the community. The existence of these tourist destinations has also made tourism in Metro City develop into a tourism that is able to provide a sense of comfort for Muslim visitors, contributing positively to strengthening the community's economy and the beauty of the tourist environment.
