Abstract
Violence in educational institutions is increasingly emerging as a “silent revolution” a hidden, systemic yet destructive movement that damages the foundations of humanity, disrupts the psychological health of students, and reduces the essence of education as a safe, free, and liberating space. This phenomenon demands a strategic response that goes beyond the legal-formal approach, towards the moral, spiritual, and psychopedagogical realms. In this context, fatwas as a product of religious ijtihad have significant potential in shaping public ethics and directing the social behavior of the community. However, its role in preventing educational violence is still stagnant at the normative level, not yet developing into a transformative instrument integrated into educational practice. This article aims to reconstruct the role of the MUI fatwa on child protection through a psychopedagogical approach and examine the pedagogical implications inherent in it. Using the literature study method and content analysis technique, it was found that the reconstruction of the role of fatwas can be directed to five main functions: educational, formulative, disseminative, implementative, and evaluative. Meanwhile, the psychopedagogical implications of fatwas include the creation of a child-friendly care environment, strengthening emotional and social development, instilling Islamic character values, and strengthening a non-repressive education model. These findings emphasize the urgency of redesigning religious fatwas as ethical-pedagogical guidelines that educate, raise awareness, and liberate. This article recommends synergy between scholars, educators, and psychologists in formulating educational fatwas that are responsive to the complexity of violence in schools, while simultaneously encouraging the development of a safe, inclusive, and equitable educational ecosystem.
