PENDAMPINGAN PEMAHAMAN DAN PENGAMALAN FIQH SYAFI’I DALAM PRAKTIK IBADAH MASYARAKAT: STUDI PENGABDIAN DI TERENGGANU
Abstract
Guidance on understanding and practicing Shafi'i fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) was conducted at Pasir Minal Mosque, Terengganu, to strengthen the community's acts of worship while fostering a moderate and contextual religious understanding. The initiative aimed to provide education on the fiqh of worship—grounded in established scholarly lineages—through regular study sessions, interactive discussions, practical guidance on worship rituals, and religious dialogue. A service-learning approach was employed to engage the community as active partners in the planning, implementation, reflection, and evaluation of the activities. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in the community's understanding of Shafi'i fiqh, a strengthened role for religious leaders as scholarly mentors, and the cultivation of moderate and tolerant attitudes toward differing religious practices. The younger generation also benefited through enhanced religious literacy, enabling them to critically evaluate digital information. Overall, this community service initiative positively impacted the reinforcement of a Shafi'i-based religious identity and strengthened social harmony within the community. Recommendations include ensuring the continuity of fiqh study programs, enhancing collaboration between educational institutions and the mosque, and developing contextual fiqh modules tailored to the younger generation.
