Abstract

Indonesia is a Multicultural country so it is not surprising that the community is also known as a Multicultural society. In the world of education, considering everything must see who the object, how the background and what it looks like if a new policy is applied. Just as when developing curriculum, multiculturalism must be considered. Therefore it is necessary to have a foundation in curriculum development both philosophically, psychologically or sociologically. The focus of this article is the psychological development foundation, what is the psychological foundation of curriculum development in Indonesia? Of course this research is very necessary to be done to find out the psychological basis that is used as a reference in curriculum development. This research is a library research that is by analyzing data, documents related to the discussion with systematic analysis. The results of this study are that curriculum development must be based not only on philosophy but also on psychology, because the curriculum is closely related to students so that based on psychology in curriculum development must be done. There are 2 main elements in the development of psychology namely developmental psychology and learning psychology. This element is directly related to students.
