Otherwise, they will read the paper a few more times, taking notes to build a detailed point-by-point review. The review results are then submitted to the journal's editorial team, with a recommendation to accept, reject, or request revisions (usually marked as major or minor revisions) before reconsideration.
  7. Editorial Team Evaluates the Reviews
The Editor-in-Chief and editors consider all returned reviews before making an overall decision. If the reviews differ significantly between the reviewers, the editor may invite an additional reviewer to get an extra opinion before making a decision.
  8. Communicating the Decision
The editor sends a decision email to the author, including relevant reviewer comments. The reviewer's comments are sent anonymously to the respective author for necessary actions and responses. At this point, the reviewers will also be sent an email or letter informing them of the outcome of their review.
  9. Final Steps
If the paper or article is accepted, it will be sent to the copy-editing process. If the article is rejected or sent back to the author for revision, the editor will include constructive comments from the reviewers to help the author improve the article. The author must make corrections and revise the paper according to the reviewer's comments and instructions. After the revisions are made, the author must resubmit the revised paper to the editor.

If the paper is resubmitted after revision, the reviewers must re-examine the revised version, unless they have opted out of further participation. However, if only minor changes were requested, this follow-up review can be done by the editor.

If the editor approves the revised paper, it will be published online, and all of them are made freely available as downloadable PDF files to anyone.
